Facial Rejuvenation (Cosmetic Acupuncture) is a full holistic treatment based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. Besides restoring the circulation on the face and promoting the production of collagen, it also brings a general sensation of balance & well being to your whole body.
The face will feel more relaxed, refreshed, uplifted and cared for. Especially if there’s a tendency for clenching the jaw.
Through tiny needles in the face the treatment creates “a controlled injury” on the skin which activates the wound healing cascade. This will stimulate collagen and blood flow, repair, nourish and therefore will tighten the skin.
Experience an instant glow to the skin, a sense of balance and general well being on the whole body. This ancient ritual of love and care for your skin, face and whole body contains:
- Ear & body acupuncture
- Face mask
- Face acupuncture
- Face, head & neck massage
Acupuncture for Pregnancy
“If the qi is correct and if the blood is circulating well, labor is described as harmonious”
In clinical practice acupuncture is an ideal method to help women prepare themselves to have the most efficient labor possible. Pre-birth acupuncture treatments are usually done in the final weeks of pregnancy (around week 36) to prepare women for childbirth.
In the form of a standard set of points, it can help prepare a woman’s body for birth, with an emphasis on preparing the cervix and pelvis for labor. As well, the treatment can be given to deal with medical conditions such as, pregnancy induced hypertension, and symptoms such as heartburn and hemorrhoids.
Other advantages of pre-birth acupuncture treatment are:
- Great probability of giving birth within 42 weeks
- Quicker dilation
- Breathing is deeper and more free
- Easier to cope with contractions
- Less fatigued and faster recovery after birth
- Easier to breastfeed
Pre-birth acupuncture treatments are recommended once a week for three weeks prior to the woman’s due date.
Breech position (when the baby is positioned bottom-down late in pregnancy) around week 34, can be helped by acupuncture and moxibustion (moxa stick to warm the acupuncture point) as well. Several treatments are needed to help the baby turn in the right position.
Acupuncture can help to promote labor, it can be very effective in inducing women who are past their due date. Commitment to daily sessions/several sessions is needed for better results. Scheduling the treatment with enough time before the medical induction is recommended. Treatments are around the week 40 or beginning of week 41 with 2 to 4 daily treatments for better results.
The treatment can be combined with a 60 minute or 90 minute massage for ultimate relaxation before labor.
**Please keep in mind that the Acupuncture treatment to promote labor can be a catalyst, but the baby and your body will ultimately decide when they are ready.**
