Burcu completed her Pilates Mat education at the Smartbody Studio in Amsterdam in 2015. A few years later, she followed the Comprehensive BASI Pilates Teacher Training. Burcu has an overall love of movement, having had an active lifestyle since childhood! Volleyball, tennis and skiing are a couple of sports which you may ind Burcu enjoying apart from teaching Pilates.

When she discovered Pilates, she was hooked from the start. It creates a deeper awareness of the body, more flexibility, strength and a sense of grounding. Burcu wants to share the joy she feels from practising Pilates with everyone. To help build up their balance & control while moving with intention.
What inspired you to become a Pilates teacher?
I was inspired by the benefits of Pilates from the first moment. I was trying out different kinds of sports, but from the moment I discovered Pilates I could not stop doing it. I see how effective the movements are for the full body. Once you learn the principles of the method, you can control & balance your body so well that you begin to have the confidence to try more challenging activities without hesitation.
What are the benefits of Pilates for beginners?
Awareness of the body and learning how to properly initiate your movements. Realising the body’s limits and how to honour them. Once one masters certain movements in Pilates, strength, control and freedom in the spine will be the outcome. I believe if you experience that and what your body can achieve there is no reason not to love it!
