Turid finds teaching on the ingenious Pilates apparatus, like the reformer, barrel, chair, spine corrector and cadillac, incredibly inspiring as they provide a chance to work with detail & precision.
“The ability to change is in your own hands”
Turid has further developed her knowledge with the following extra courses: Pre & Post-natal, Pelvic floor, Pilates for Runners, The OOV and Foam roller. Due to her own hernias in the past, she has great understanding of how to recover from spinal injuries with the Pilates Method. During the years Turid has specialized in building up people with hip replacements, knee surgeries, frozen shoulders and osteoporosis as well as those who want to excel in their sports like runners, hikers and dancers.
How do you modify exercises for clients with injuries or limitations?
“I modify on the spot with props, towels, less/more springs in order to make the Pilates exercises available for all.”
What is your favorite part about teaching?
“Creating ‘aha-moments’ for clients. Moments that make them realize things about their body, their strategies in moving/breathing/etc. And that they have it in their own hands to change it through the ‘aha’.”
